The purpose of this market is to be a business accelerator and provide vending opportunities to businesses and community organizations in the Nānākuli Ahupua’a, in addition to that, this is an opportunity for businesses along the Wai’anae Coast to vend. As part of vending with this marketplace, vendors have the opportunity to use the resources provided by the Wai’anae Economic Development Council (WEDC) to ensure they have access to assist in formalizing their business venture to maximize opportunities across the island, state, and beyond.
To keep the community at the forefront, we have designated the Nanaikapono Hawaiian Civic Club as the benefitting community organization. All net proceeds generated by this market will be donated to the organization's scholarship fund, which gives out scholarships to graduating seniors from Nānākuli High & Intermediate School (NHIS).
Shanztyn is the owner of Kenzingtyn Pacific, LLC, a boutique events and marketing company working with small businesses here in Hawai'i.
Shanztyn became affiliated with the Nanakuli community through his work with Christmas on the Avenue. Having assisted the event with its marketing efforts over the past two years, and collaborating with Carol Pelekai to create advertising materials for the Nanakuli Village Center Night Market, he has invested a significant amount of sweat equity and genuine interest in helping the community and small business owners.
A lifelong resident of Leeward O'ahu, Shanztyn's family is from the Wai'anae Coast, specifically Lualualei. In Nanakuli, his great-grandparents resided in the Nanakuli Homestead on Haleakala Ave until his great-grandfather's passing in the early 2000s.
Shanztyn has firsthand experience in building businesses from the ground up. Along with his parents, he founded and opened the Kapolei Autism Center, a privately-funded therapy center specializing in working with learners on the Autism Spectrum. Our driving passion at Kapolei Autism Center is to serve the community and support families like ours. My youngest sibling is on the spectrum, so this is more than just a business, it is a very meaningful organization working to make impactful change in the lives of our learners.
"My passion is seeing others succeed because when one of us does well, it is a great reflection on our community!"
